to work on my explorer.
Some things i want to do to it are:
Get a little more power. At least enough to bark the tires from a standstill and not have to have my floot through the floor to keep up with SoCal freeway traffic. How much are a good pair of headers? reccomended brands? I just want something to pick up a few ponies on a budget. I can get a custom exhasut at a local shop for pretty cheap. I want an intake too, but i dont want a ugly pipe in my engine bay, i wanna keep it pretty stock looking. Can i swap the TB from a different car, gut the resonator, or something like that to keep a stock apperance but gain a little performance?
Raise it up and get a little more travel. I want to be able to have 31's or 33's in there without rubbing (235/75/15's stock) I dont know if i even have to lift it at all to fit 31's but 33's im sure i will.
I know putting bigger tires on it will lower the FD ratio, can i still run stock gears with the 31's? 33's?
I dont want to do anything crazy because my grandma has to be able to drive it from time to time. I wanna keep it streetable enough for her to drive.
im on a pretty tight budget too, but i can do most of my own work (as long as its not fabrication)
