Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the transmission section. Remove the pan from the bottom of the transmission, then the square cover with 4 bolts holding the low/reverse servo. Your servo could be cracked or the band might be broken.

is there one or 2 bands for the transmission?

thank you i will be attempting to check out both items over the next 2 weeks and will let you know what i find out

i took apart the servo you told me about there was some scarring on the inside part of it but in the process of removing the pan i also see what i think might be some roller barring maybe 10 or so laying in the pan on the magnet there now has me wondering if there might be other broken items inside it

You're in deep trouble, but for others here is a quick test. Try rocking the servo around while it is still installed. Any side to side movement means the O ring has flattened out and it will leak a lot. This causes slow engagement. If it never engages, it is too late for O rings.

they look like needle barrings and something that might have held it in has about 25 now all total that were in the pan and inside the transmission itself. they are about a half inch long and perfectly rounded but just thin and small in size just like a needle barring
