Well I finally flipped the odometer a second time on my 91 XLT! There have been some sticky spots on the way but my baby is still running strong. Actually the ride has been much more smooth than I originally thought it would, here is a list of what's been done in it's 11 year life...

- 1 Transmission Rebuild at 169,000 (not bad huh?)
- Added Warn Hubs (110,000 miles)
- Replaced Radius Arm Bushings (120,000)
- 5 Sets of Tires
- 2 Grills and 2 Front Bumpers (Damn Deer)
- 3 Passenger Windows (Damn Theives)
- Too many oil changes to count

Can you believe that's it? I read through all the posts on this board and just count myself lucky to have made it this far without having a ton of problems. I just wanted to share the bright spot of my week with you all, my Explorer wouldn't have made it this far without all the advice I've gotten here!

Here's to the next 100,000 miles.

great.

i hope mine doesnt give me any problems on the way to 200,000. i'm almost at 160,000 and never had a problem. i only had to replace the shocks, tires, and regular tuneups and oil changes.

My explorer had 240k miles when I pulled the engine and it still ran strong, it even had good compression.

-Two tune ups
-Oil changed every 3k miles
-One clutch

I sure hope you make it to the 300k mark with no problems

Oknut, you actually drive your explorer on the roads!

i thought it was only for trails.

is it legal to drive it with that much lift and huge tires?

leenjen - I bought the truck with about 230 k miles.. I bought it from someone I knew really well. Back then I drove it on the road all the time. I installed a 5.5 inch lift and some 33's but that only lasted a few months before I did the big conversion.

Last weekend I drove it through town to get to the hills, there was a cop who followed me for a long time and then I pulled over and he kept going. I still haven't been pulled over. I also drove it on the highway last weekend.

But I am gonna make it more legal with some fender flares and mud flaps.

Congrats on 200,000! I have a virgin Explorer, we're still working our way up to 100,000. But we're going to get there soon!
