God, I really love carparts.com. I ordered a set of borla headers for my 96 sport on 3/17. I just called because they haven't arrived. Upon calling they tell me that they are discontinued and I will not be charged. I can still order them off their site even though their discontinued? I'm not really sure what to do, I think I should get a set of headers because I ordered them but all they say is sorry. If anyone can give some advice or if anyone has a set for a 96 sport 4.0L and they would like to sell them I'd like to hear from you. Thanks a lot for your time.
P.S. Not only do I find out I'm not geting headers, my computer crashes big time. Now it's basically a big expensive paper weight. Can my life get any worse? Thank God my Explorer isn't broken.

Sorry to hear you weren't able to get your headers from carparts.com. I wouldn't call that "getting screwed" though... Finding an advertised product that is actually no longer available does happen from time to time, in both "brick-n-mortar" and internet retail stores. Many larger internet sites do not have 100% inventory on-hand for the products they sell. It is because of this cost saving business arrangement that we are able to buy stuff much cheaper than at local outlets that have to pay the light bill and lease on the building. Most of the giant superstores actually have no product on hand. You can imagine the vast network of communication between the seller and numerous suppliers that must be maintained to "keep the ball rollin". Occasionally, they come up short or the stock qty info is not updated immediately.
It would have been nice for carparts to notify you of the discrepancy within a couple days of your order.
It happens, it just sucks when it happens to you...

Borla has a bad habit about doing this. It happend to me with my cat back. borla discontinued it and told no company about the system being discontinued...

Jim-try emailing Dead Link Removed - I contacted them a while back and they where able to find a set of BBK headers which would fit my '91. I too tried ordering Borlas since it was so cheap with the coupon. I guess I'll find out if they have them or not. Wish me luck. Now I know '91 and '96 are different, but try it anyway. They may be able to help you. It won't hurt. You may also want to check out JBA headers. They are one of the few manufacturers which make headers especially for Fords. Try here: http://racenet.net/cgi-racenet/product.cgi?Page=/exh/jba-fordtruck.html

JBA's headers may be better than Borla's, but they sure cost more. For my '93, they list at $588. Carparts before coupon-$398.
