If anyone did this theirselves then they will no what i'm talking about. In the book step's 41-45 (i think) said to hold one tire against the drive line and rotate the other in the opposite direction. Well i understand that, so i called tech support and they said it is to allow the inner wheel to disengage around a corner. Well i tried and tried to get the wheel to break free but i couldn't so i said the heck with it and put everything back together. Well it runs fine so far but it's not suppose to disengage around a corner when you are on the gas is it? Mine didn't but if i was coasting then the inner tire wouldn't spin. On the gas and you can hear the tread ripping off my new tires!!!! Someone please let me know, i really don't want take this thing back apart and i don't want to tear it up! Thanks!

Josh,

sounds like everything is working fine. On install it is extremely difficult to get the tires to disengauge with just body strength(or at least for me it was). I rotated the axle a few times get the lube up in the unit, and had a block to hold one wheel, and then I could break the other free.

Your right about the power through the corners - the axles will stay locked together, this is one of those driving style changes- stay off the gas going around corners.

Sounds good, have to see it in action ion the 19th:D

OH GOD BLESS YOU!! Man, that is music to my ears, I just ran up to Advance Auto parts to empty my oil container and i notice that i will have to get use to it. It also sounded funny a couple of times, like when i'm at a stop light and have to make a turn, but i think it will settle in once i get it broke in.

Man, i can't wait till the 19th!! I got my Hight lift jack in yesterday when i got my locker in. I used it tonight on my explorer to see how it works and it's awesome! To bad the thing is so heavy! But yeah, the 19th, my buddy is going to run over there with me and he'll be my spotter if i need one and he just wanted to come too, he's my 4wheelin buddy here at home and neither of us have really been on this kinda trip or anywhere different then what we do on the weekends, so we are both excited. Looking forward to see you! Thanks again!

You have to remember also that it is new and needs a little time to break in.

I had the exact same deal with my second locker (same vehicle). When I couldn't get the wheels to turn like the instruction said, I dropped it off the jack stands a gave it the ole' smoke test. It popped once or twice (loud) and then it ran smooth. The Power Trax is much more quite than the old Lock Right and it doesn't BANG in all of sudden. It still bumps a bangs a little when you turn and its in gear (mine is standard shift), so I'll kick it out of gear when I'm turning tight like on a parking lot.

You will get use to it, others around you wont they will look at your truck like its coming apart.

Just grin :D and GO!

I hear ya about the Grin and Go!! I was going to go off road tomorrow and try it out but it's been raining all day and i don't feel like getting that muddy! Yeah iknow it needs to break in some. This is the first time i've even been around a locker so i didn't know what to expect, thanks for the help fellas!!

Happy trailes!
