I'm really not sure what the axel code is. How can I find out? One thing I can tell everyone for sure, is that after having the injectors cleaned, installing a thermostat and replacing an oxygen sensor, there is absolutely zero change in the consumption. I'm still getting about 8mpg.
With 31" tires and a rear axle of like 3.05 or something your going to get about 8mpg driving that slow and have a load in the truck.their is just nothing you can do but swap out the rear end gears and even at that your probably only gain 3-5 mpg.its an explorer, gas mileage is not in its vocabulary. You are leaving it out of overdrive right?axle code is also on a tag on the rear end
