I need flexplate information.

Good afternoon,
Googled Ranger drivetrain problem and found this site. Is flex plate failure common on 3.0 L with 5 sp auto (only 67000 mi)?. Is there a better OEM or A/M replacement part?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Ranger section. Did your flexplate crack or are you just looking for information?

Chirping coming from rear of engine especially at idle. Friend thought flex plate crack by the sound. I have not removed the starter to check for crack. With 67000 highway miles wondered if this was an unusual or typical failure. If typical is there an improved flex plate availailable OE or AM? Thanks for ytou help.
