i need to know where the 4x4 module is on my truck im so confused looking at pictures and diagrams on the internet

why i wanna know where this is at is because my truck has been acting up for the past few days its a loud clunk when the wheel is turned hard left or hard right. Sometimes it's so violent it almost stops the truck. and i read it on the internet that its the 4x4 module i dont wanna spend $2000 on a transfer case!

please HELP!

What engine is in the truck? The 4wd system is different in v8 and v6

The GEM module controls the 4x4 system and is located to the left of the radio, inside the dash. You can access it by removing the radio and black radio trim.

Are you thinking that the truck is stuck in 4x4 high?

I think it more likely that the actual problem resides in the transfer case. That has been my experience anyway.

well it doesnt always act like this but for some reason it wont stop this time i took it to a garage today and the guy said it was a actuator... so it could be anything right now

says its a 99 sport so it can only be a 6
