Well, I have run into a pretty ****ty issue, one of the bolts for the steering rack on my 98 Mounty is broken and after calling Mercury and Ford dealers, I have found that the bolt has been discontinued. I tried a couple of parts stores that specialize in discontinued Ford parts and came up with nothing.
Does anyone here know where I can get the bolt, or know of anyone parting out an explorer/mountaineer?

I know I can go to a junk yard but thats a last resort seeing as if I have little time to do so.

Let me know, thanks
Dan

All I know is the one I went to did not offer this.

the problem is that the bolt is threaded one way at the top, then a gap, then different threads. this may be difficult to find

Anyone parting out???????????

which bolt are you talking about?

There are 2 bolts that hold the steering rack to the frame/crossbar. This is what I need.

I have these bolts from a 96 truck, $5 should cover shipping...pm me
