I need help removing a servo cover.

I'm am going to replace the pistons in my Ford Explorer with a 5R55E trasmission. How do I get the cover off? I have the tool to remove the clips. Can I tighten the ajustment screw to push the cap off?

The tool only compresses the cover to release the retainer clip.

i know but how do i get the cover off after the retainer is removed

Tap on it. There is a spring behind it with a lot of tension. You might be able to move the piston from under the transmission if you plan on removing the valve body.

When I rebuilt the transmission, I tried to remove the cap, and it only went in, but did not came back out. I reinstalled the retainer, and finished the transmission (mistake) on my part.

Try to grab the cover, and twist it. Do you have this problem with one cover or both of them? I've moved all of these posts into its own thread.

I've only tried one, so I don't know about the other one.
