I am in the proces of changing the front wiper motor on my 91 explore i followed the stepps and now the motor wont slide out. it is still connected to the wiper linkage arm. how do i get it off

Assuming the wiper arm itself is what you need help removing, they come off like this. Pivot the arm up all the way on its hinge and it should stick there. There's a little metal tab near where the arm goes onto the splines; pull that out and the wiper arm can be wiggled up and off the splines.

There is a plastic plate behind the intake manifold in the center of the firewall. Pull that plate off. Become a contortionist and slide your hand back into the opening. The wiper linkage may be hard to maneuver around. There is a small C-clip thingy that can be hard to get off. Basically, slide it off the wiper motor shaft and the linkage will fall off, allowing the motor to be removed.
