I need help with a driver's door handle.

I am trying to replace the outside door handle on my Sport Trac and need to know how to disconnect the rod at the latch. You can't see he rod and I can't tell from the feel what kind of clip or release it has. I have the old handle off but the rod is to high to connect the new handle. Need help in a hurry please.

The rod clip folds over the outer handle actuator rod. Just unfold the clip and it releases it's grip on the rod.
