1998 2wd Explorer Sport
Hey guys, im new to serious ex's and i need some help. I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport 2wd with the rear mono leaf suspension. I want to lift my truck because its looks way too wimpy to be a badass explorer, and i havent been able to find parts. I understand that you can get 3 inch lift spindles for the front of the truck and by doing a little bit of torsion twisting, i can get about 4.5 to 5 inchs out of the front and i am totally cool with that. My problem though is the rearend. As most of us know, the explorer sags in the rear and gives it a california cruiser look which in my oppinion looks depressing. I was wondering if anybody has any idea of correcting this problem. I understand that you can lift the rear with shackles but that is only about 2 inchs and i am looking for about 6. I have seen that superlift makes 4 inch lifted multipack rear leaf springs for the 96 to 00 explorer 4x4. Does anybody know if these can fit a 98 sport and if it does, do i need any extra parts or is it a dirrect swap. Please help me out guys, post it up.

flip the springs on top of the axle and you will have 5 inches or so...problem solved

Do you think those mono leafs will hold that kind of abuse, and where do you get the parts to do something like that?

excange them with the packs from the 4-doors.

So are the 4 door multipack leafs interchangeable with the 2 door monoleafs? And if this is the case the 4 inch lift springs that are made for the 4 wheel drive will fit in the stock locations of the monoleafs?

yes....yes....they are all interchangable.

can shackles be added to the sport's mono-leaf?
