Just purchased F150 coil seats and warrior shackles. I wanna replace the shocks with some that are budget friendly. What do you guys recommend? I want shocks that are better than stock but not at over 100 a shock

I've been very happy with the Monroe Reflex shock i bought. Given your posts, I think they will fit you.
And they have a promotion going on 4 for the price of 3. You send them in the UPC labels off the boxes & the receipt for 4 & they mail you a gift card back for the amount you paid for 1 shock. Same deal a few years ago when I bought mine.

Since you are lifted < 2" you can get away with stock length shocks so you don't need to do "as much" digging.

On the front, If you want to get a little more down travel at the cost of up travel you can put some washers (just a few) between the upper shock bushing and the built in, washer looking thing the bushing sits on.

Once you get > 2" of lift you need to switch to longer shocks.. but for now you don't..

As for the type/brand. I didn't like the 70/30 Duff shocks when I ran them. I only ran them a month and I had Duff progressive rate springs with them. They were too soft and didn't control the suspension.

I don't think Blistens are going to be in your price range but the Rancho's 9000's should "just be". The front rs9000XL's (adjustables) are just < $100 from amazon.

Also, 4wheelparts is having a buy 3, get a 4th free (using a mail in rebate), so that is another option..

I haven't tried any other brands on the explorer but Blistens and Procomps seems to get decent reviews (Procomp is on my short list for when I need different shocks up front).

Over $100 a shock? Even the best of the best Bilsteins don't cost that much.

You can get a set of 4 Bilsteins for ~$300 shipped. The ride is firm, but I think they are worth it (if you don't plan to get a bigger lift in the future) since they have a lifetime warranty, and you only have to buy 4 shocks for however long you own your Explorer.

Monroe Reflex and Sensatracs are good, even Rancho 5000's (rebranded Monroes) are okay, but they all wear out in 30-40,000 miles and you have to buy 4 more. It's actually LESS expensive in the long run to buy 4 Bilsteins then run them until you need a replacement.

KYB's Monomax shocks are also good for SUVS, their Gas-a-just shocks are good monotube shocks, and their GR-2/Excel-G shocks are a good budget shock.

I've never heard that before. I know people with these & they have never had a problem like that.

I just bought the 4 ProComps

Not sure which he got. I had the ES9000's. They rode pretty hard. Felt everything.

I like them. I just wanted something better than stock. No complaints
