I dont know if you are a Dodge fan, but I love my durango and you can get them in your price range. Just an idea. I also love the Tahoes, they are great looking trucks and the 5.3 is a strong motor.
Yeah, they are pretty meaty, and they sell a ton of stuff for them. My bro just got his high flow cats and flowmaster 40's on his, but he decided that wasn't enough. How many times have you seen this on the road in front of you. The fuel sprayers are kind of a beeatch to get right, but I was behind him tonight on rt138 in Taunton, and it looked pretty sweet. You may want to get a newer one, but they still make em on the same basis.
I know theres a lot of differences in those two suvs, but as far as size is im pretty flexible, in the past 3 years I have had a volvo, explorer, and suburban.
A friend has a 4 runner which he says is pretty bad on the gas. As far as ratings the v6 4 runner is about 3mpg diff than the tahoe.
is it really worth it to go smaller? what would you all choose.
well... i found a good deal on a 4runner i may wind up getting - the only thing i tow is occassionally a small utility trailer, and i tow my jet ski to the lake an hour away a lot but i have towed it behind a pathfinder before plenty of times and could barely feel it back there.
I tow my jet ski up and back at least once a week in the summer... I will be at school next year, so I won't be using too much gas, but what would you guys suggest?
Eh, its a draw for me. The Yukon has the power. Ive driven a 4runner from that era and dam it felt sluggish. But, yota has the reliability. You also said you wouldnt be doing any heavy towing, so its not like you NEED the extra power. Oddly enought the fuel milage wont be very different for either. The 4runner will get around 16mpg in town... the Yukon around 15.
Go drive both of them and pick the one you want. I would go with the Yukon... but thats just me.
With that kind of mileage, I'd expect things to start wearing out on the Yukon while the Yota should give you many more trouble free miles. I drove my friend's '01 4Runner around for a month while he was out of town and I liked it a lot. A bit underpowered but it really grows on you.
sounds good to me boss. You definately got one of the biggest things I would look for with the Yukon.... Space. The 4runner is ok, but what a tiny truck inside. Oh, and that pic of the white truck up top, I can tell that was streched to be taller. K, lata
