I have a 1994 4 door 4X4 Explorer that I am building into a hunting truck for the deer lease. I have been given a set of 17" tires to put on and I want to stick with this wheel size due to the higher availability of this size tire on the used market. I am trying to find the cheapest set of 17" wheels that I can to put on my Explorer. I am not having any luck other than buying new wheels for $100 each, which is more than I want to spend (I have under $200 in the vehicle itself). Since Explorers did not come with 17" wheels from the factory, there aren't any used wheels floating around.

***Does anyone know of any other vehicles with 17" wheels that would fit on my Explorer?***

3rd gen explorers/rangers I think fit. Or ones for another ford. As long as the bolt pattern is 5X4.5 & the BS is 3.50-4.00 they should work. But clearing the 4X4 hubs may be a problem.

I found a website called wheelcollision.com. They have all sorts of wheels and the info may help you find compatible bolt patterns and such. You could even order some if you wanted.

I would think the factory 15 inch tires should be fairly easy to find used? But if you do find a 17" wheel that is compatible, go to the junkyard and buy up some steel spare wheels. I'm sure they would be cheap, and more durable in the woods anyway.
