well i was under my truck today takin off the brackets from my outland bar, and noticed oil at the bottom of the block, it looks as though its leaking, but in my driveway there are no "markings" from it. i dunno if this has somethin to do with the poretty recent oil change or not, but it concerns me. and also i noticed tranny fluid on some lines up towards the front too, ive looks and i cant determine where the hell its coming from. here are some pics of the oil:

The tranny fluid could be coming from where the tranny lines meet the tranny cooler. If that is the case, then it's a matter of replacing or tightening the hoses/hose clamps up there.

if that is the case, then you WAY over-oiled your filter. remember, it only takes a tiny bit to do it.

edit- are you saying oil dripped off your filter?

my god, did you use the whole can of oil?:p

I had a small oil leak from my timing cover since 20k miles. Never got it fixed because it was never a noticable drop between changes, never on the ground, and it requires pulling the motor.

No worries, except a small coating of oil on the bottom of the motor.

For what it's worth Curtis, my truck is always wet with oil underneath, but it never NEVER drips onto the driveway, and I never have to add between changes.
(which always surprises me). With my truck, the rear main seal is leaky, a pretty common problem with first gen trucks.

I always had oil on the line going to the power steering cooler on the bottom, it wasn't until I cleaned it up and found it there again after an oil change that I realized the guys kept getting the line wet during the oil change. :(

Mystery leaks you just gotta hate'em!
