my friend called me today and wanted to know if i would sell my 92 explorer. He really needs a cheaper car and loves my X. So he wanted to know how much i wanted for her. Well i thought for a few mins and told him , $4750 with the audio system, Or $4,440 without system.

heres some stats on my X.

1992
127,000 Miles
near perfect interior
oil changed every 3k
tranny fluid changed every year since i've owned.
new warn hubs
new u joints
new brakes *1 week old*
new spark plugs and wires
tires with 60% tread
clear tail lights
air dam *ranger 93-97 4x4 one*
explorer pro comp lights
billet grille
cone air filter & custom intake
Plus more....
see pictures www.geocities.com/deftoner_01/main.htm
I think its a fair asking price i mean i rarely drive over 65mph in it.
only prob it has is it leaks anti freeze due to radiator seals, but just needs a new radiator. problem solved

If i sold it i'd love to get another explorer prefer a 95-97 simply because the body style and A/C is newer r-13a or whatever. but have seen a couple of sharp foci, *plural for ford focus?* :) for really good prices and they get good mpg which i would like since i'm a poor part time working and full time college student :)

any thoughts or comments

1995
4x4
130,000
near perfect interior
oil changed religious @ 3k
new tranny
new clutch
new rear end
new radiator
new brakes
essentially stock
etc, etc, etc

Sold mine for 4200. I dont have an opinion on whether yours is worth that, its too hard to judge the used car market right now, things are really soft. This is just something to compare to. Take into consideration that even if you have tons of mods into your X, the selling price should only reflect a fraction of the cost of them.

will he pay that much? i say it is good..... all the 1st gens around here run $3k-$6k

Sounds fair to me. I'm asking $5,000 for mine with 155K and people say, "that's it?" Of course, CA used cars tend to command a premium, as they are generally in better shape (with our perfect weather :D out here, cars stay looking pretty good).

Just for a comparison on price

I can find dozens of 91-94 explorers for 2000-3000 bucks around here- Eastcoast DC area. 1750 is really good price though for a truck that looks so clean.

Good Luck.

i bought my explorer in October last year for $3999. It's a 1992 XLT 4X4 with 88,9XX miles. This is in Pittsburgh, PA.
