...sold my stock wheels.

Anybody else have anything they would have done different with their Sport Trac?

I scrapped my factory wheels because they were really screwed up, wish I would've kept them. I've bought a couple different factory tonneau covers and sold all of them. Also had a cap that took me four years to find one in my region and for a good price, sold that recently too. As well as a couple of bed extenders.

Plans for my Sport Trac don't include the bed or the front suspension, axle assembly and complete drivetrain so those will be sold off as well. Still have the Tal & Hadas rear Sport Bar (1 of 4 in America and no longer available), have it for sale for $500 simply because I won't have a bed to mount it to. I will be selling my swing out tire carrier (first and only on a Sport Trac).

I know I'll regret selling all that stuff but won't need it anymore so why not help out another member.

Get another Sport Trac to display that sport bar. Seems worth it!:D

Nah, I like ST's but won't buy another just because I'd be tempted to mod it too much and have to replace frontend parts like I do with this one (the whole reason I'm SAS'ing and doing a complete '89 F-250 drivetrain swap to it). I'll eventually need to get a tow rig (fullsize) to be able to pull my oversized ST if I get harassed by the cops too much as I'm anticipating.

I regret lifting mine as I have gone through so many front end parts

Multiple replacements of the same parts? The only part I've replaced twice has been the steering rack. I paid someone to do the second replacement, haha.

What happened to this thread over on MyST?

Replacing bearings with only 20000 on them and inner tie rods again with only months on them (replaced labor day)

Oh, ok. Wasn't sure. They didn't get the whole idea of the thread. There's tons of things I wish I would've done differently with mine. I've got way too much invested in it (thru price of the truck, mods and repairs) to give it away now. If this weather ever warms up I can get outside and work on it, just got another 6"s of snow last night. Everytime I sell something off my truck or even change it part of me regrets it.

I wish I hadn't:

Passed up on the good deal for a ST with a blown engine.

I put on a rear window vent visor. I think it causes more road noise with the window open and if I do ever find a cap I like, I'll have to remove it anyway.

I've wondered about those. I've had it on my Amazon wish list for two years.

Ya I think because, of course, there it the gap between the cab and box and it just funnels the noise back into the cab. Bought my Trac in the winter and put the visor on as soon as it was warm enuff, so I can't really say if I'm 100% correct or not

The guy I sold my A.R.E. cap to had a rear window vent visor on his Trac and it had about 1/2" clearance between the cap and visor. it probably would've been closer to 3/4"-1" if he put the weather stripping on the bed before we put it on like I suggested.

I wish I had replaced all my body mounts when I did the body lift. Now I'm going to have to go through all the steps again just to swap the mounts out.

Before I did the SAS I kind of wished I'd kept the stock wheels too to run smaller narrower tires on long trips. Although I'd get a kick out of seeing what they'd look like on there now.

Oooh, yeah, that's a good one. I'm going to have to do that soon.

i really regret not taking a serious run at chad's SAS sport trac. i was really close, and i had just enough money to do it about a month after he sold it.

I was in the same boat Lono. Carol got her early retirement money from the school board about a week after he sold his Trac. Guess it was a good thing though because my rig would've stayed the DD family rig and the drivetrain would've been completely done by now. Things happen for a reason, I'm happen with 2013 Tacoma Baja T/X.
