What is the best solution for cleaning inside the actual IAC? What do you use...carb cleaner or Electronic cleaner? Thanks

Thanks Robb but, I already made copies of this sight. he didn't answer my question about the part itself. Just how to clean the engine part and the plastic plug that mine doesn't have. Thanks anyway!

electronic cleaner is best.

What question was not answered in the 1st post of that thread?

Thanks guys! I got IAC cleaned also the MAF, FPR and took apart my intake and cleaned all that build-up in there. I installed a new TP, EGR and sensor and new Bosch Platinum +2's plugs and tightened down my revamped EGR exhaust line going to the exhaust pipe. I test drove my Explorer and listened for any back firing and it ran smooth and my compression was great. I think it was my cheap non-platinum plugs that was causing the whole problem. Thanks again!

carb cleaner works fine too, I have used it. It doesn't seem to bother the sensor but I agree electronic cleaner is prolly the better choice. I had a pretty bad carbon build up and I didn't think anything else would do the job. I talked to a guy that use to work for Ford and he said it wouldn't hurt it, so I tried it.

iac

I have used carburetor cleaner to clean my IAC in my explorer and my dad's aerostar, and they worked fine. I would have used electronic cleaner, but both are fine. The electronic stuff just evaporates quicker. Why did you get bosch plugs??? All I've heard is bosch's are bad in Fords...motorcraft are better. Get the platinum motorcraft.

I got bosch patinum +4s in my X and they work fine for me? If something is wrong with using them PLMK ASAP.

According to this poll created via a thread "What Plugs do you use??" 37.5% of the replies are currently using Bosch...

Soooo whats wrong with them?

I haven't personally known anything wrong. It's just every hard-core Ford guy tells me to use autolite/motorcraft only in Fords. If they work, that's all that matters though, right? :-) don't worry I'm sure it's fine

From my experience doing driveablility repairs for a Ford dealer, there is not much worse you can do to your Ford than installing Bosch platinum spark plugs. I am now preparing myself for all the crap that's about to be thrown at me for saying that!

No please tell me exactly what trend your seeing wrong with motors running Bosch plugs? I'll pull em out of both my Probe and my X if I see evidence that says they can cause problems. I'd rather be safe then sorry especially with a motor like mine that has been around the world almost 8 times :)
