My wife's EB 2000, SOHC. I did a search and came up with IAC valve, however it starts fine 90% of the time, the weather has been getting very cold and periodically it won't start unless you give it a little gas, once it does start it runs and idles just like new. The other IAC problems I've seen show the truck idling like crap or dying again. She even plugged in the block heater at night and sure enough one morning it would'nt turn over until she gave it gas.

Another problem besides the IAC?

Could be a slight leak at your intake manifold gasket. May need to tighten your intake manifold bolts.

BTW, congrats on your new Aviator, how is it?

Well it feels like an explorer, but runs like a sports car. Only complaint I have so far with it is the poor gas mileage. Mostly because I'm always in town and hard on the gas showing off. But other than that I've pulled out two jimmy's, a silverado, and a suburban stuck in the ditch after a snow storm last week. Kind of a hobby you might say, whenever there is a big storm I go out looking for victims.

Well, I get about 10-12 mpg city and you're probably faster. We both have about 300 hp, but yours was stock :(

I still think it's your IAC. Bad intake manifold o-rings (also a common SOHC problem) would cause a rough idle and possibly a check engine light.

When you go to start, wait a few seconds at "on" before turning to start and make sure you can hear the fuel pump running.
