After reading several posts related to hard starting after 15 minutes I went ahead and replaced the IAC (Idle Airflow Controller). My original unit was heavily coated with an oily, carbon gunk and although several people said cleaning with electrical contact cleaner worked, I decided on a replacement.

I had to buy the more expensive unit from Advance Auto Parts to match the electrical plug (Mfg: BWD, UPC: 707390574936, OE Number: 95TF-AA, ~$75). The cheaper version electrical socket does not match.

Two things happened.... it cured the warm rough starting issue (mostly) and the "moose call" started. Never had the moose call with the original unit. The moose call is emanating from the air filter housing. Cold morning start, no moose call. More noticeable after driving a while without acceleration. Disappears during acceleration. Not too loud but has not decreased over 2 weeks after installation of new IAC. Guess I'll live with it. The old IAC cleaned-up nicely using a liberal dosing of electrical contact cleaner. I'll keep it as a spare.

Sidenote: the little black cap on the side... I could not remove it from the original unit, but it slides off easily on the new unit. Removing from the new unit has no effect on my new moose call.

Usually the a.i.c is the cause of the moose call.try putting on the old one to see if your original problem was fixed. Either way I would try to swap the new part out
