- 1997 ford ranger
Hi all, I have a 1997 ford ranger and it is doing somthing strange.
It has a 2.3 four cyl with a manual tranny. when I start it it will idle fast for
for a bit then idle down to about 1100 rpm witch should be normel, but when
I am driving it on the road the idle stays around 3000 when I shift gears.
Now when I am going along a flat streach or down hill , if I put in the clutch
and take it out of gear and let the clutch out the idle will stay around 3000
only when the truck comes to a complete stop will the engine drop down to
1100 rpm's. would realy like to find out what is roung.
Thanks Ron
