well ok here is the deal.
currently im almost able to drive (15 year old). I have been working on my 1992 explorer (with 170,000 miles) for about a year. i have done a lot, like lifts and all, but my parents sometimes dont like it i think b/c i am putting a lot of money into a car with 170k. now it does have a new transmission and stuff, but still.
my sister is about to graduate from UNC and they may get her a new car, and I would get her 1994 Navajo. now i would love to have it, it would be awesome, it only has 100k. Transfering all my stuff from the explorer onto that would take awhile. Most everything will fit the navajo that i can think of, that is on the explorer. Except my add a leaf. But thats another story, im almost thinking of just doing the skyjacker 4 or 6 inch up front and spring over with shackles in the back. What should i do! i stil have to talk to my parents about it all too, b/c they arent sure if they will even do it yet (the car trade).

I wish I had that problem when I was 15 to choose and have a trick Explorer. Well I am sure everyone here is going to tell you to sell them both and save your money until you are older but I wont. Personally, I like the 4 door and the Explorer grill better, but after that it is nearly the same vehicle. Is the Nav a stick? That is a better tranny, and miles are miles, the less the better, but a truck with 100k or one with 170k will both require little crap to be changed.
So you need to let your folks let you keep Both, then you can either build up 2 or have one as a parts truck and sell stuff like the tranny and doors and panels that will not match up, Tell your parents that all of these lunatics on ExplorerForum wish they had a second vehicle so they could saved Thousands of dollars in parts and miles running all over looking for a part that you will be lucky enough to have in your backyard.

I'd go for it. I'd like to have a shorter wheelbase vehicle, and if you can transfer all your stuff over to it, its all good. and if it has 70K less, thats a plus, and if you keep everything in tune it could last very long. But if I had to choose a vehicle to run around offroad in, I'd want a Navajo or a Ex. Sport due to the short wheelbase. But, if you haul friends around a lot or do a lot of camping and stuff like that, you might have to give up some space.

I would Trade for the Navajo. They Are more rare than your Xlt. and Lower mileage, shorter wheel base. Better interior. Need I Go on.

well i think i'd go for it now. but i have to wait a few months anyway. my dad doesnt want to get her a car yet.
but now feel like i dont want to put anything on to the explorer, like the steering stabilizer i ordered, etc. and i already got my rims from matt, and im gonna get my tires soon, but i have 3:27 gears, so i was gonna switch them soon since im getting 32's but now im not gonna put the money into that since ill be trading soon. but then ahh its just kinda weird, i have put so much time and stuff into the explorer, and it runs good now at 170k, and has a new tranny, MAS, radiator, and a lot of other things. And then ill have to do some work on that navajo, it runs pretty good, but its at that point where the tranny usually goes out, and its an auto. so i dont know what im gonna do. ahh. so confusing haha.
