Ignition cylinder question

Is the ignition cylinder the same as the 87-96 bronco's? i bought a new one for my bronco but im not using it anymore, and when i turn my explorer to accessory, you can pull the key out..and i dont think most should do that lol so i wanted to switch them out. how do you get them out anyway?
