I have to replace the ignition lock cylinder in my truck. I went to the dealer and they quoted me $216.00 + tax to replace it. Does anybody know how to replace that part? Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you.

A.

Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.

Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
Insert the ignition key and turn to the RUN position.
Press the ignition switch lock cylinder release pin while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.

Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
Verify ignition switch lock cylinder operation.

Hope this helps .........

Thank you aldive, I'll try to work on it this weekend.

I have been trying to figure out how to get the stupid switch out. I was able to do it after reading this and JIMBO's link.
