I tried to post a follow-up to this thread, but it appears closed to new replies.
Just wanted to say that I changed out my 1993 ignition switch lock & tumbler this weekend, and that thread was invaluable.
I probably would have struggled forever trying to find where to stick the skinny screwdriver to release the lock & tumbler, but for the pictures provided in that thread.
I have tilt-wheel, and it was not necessary to pull the steering wheel or the top cover off the column. Two screws and I could pull the bottom cover open wide enough to access what I needed.
