I tried driving a car for over a year. To be exact it lasted 18 months then I failed and gave in. gas prices going up or not I am not a car guy and I needed my truck back. Bought myself a 2006 XLT with the 4.6L today and I am super excited to pick it up this week. Yes I have to wait until the usual service is done. Seems like when I found this 06 on autotrader that it wasn't up front and detailed yet. Still I am CRAZY excited to be back and will give updates as soon as i get my keys.:D

I know the feeling. I have had suvs, and pickups for the past number of years. Sometimes I think about a car for commuting, but the versitality, safety, and usefulness of the an SUV can't be beat.

I was using the Explorer for commuting 45 miles a day but couldn't do it anymore. So I traded in the wife's car for a brand new Focus for me and gave her the Explorer to drive the kids around in. Getting 32mpg in the Focus. But when I do drive the Explorer I remember how much I miss it. Smooth drivetrain, solid over bumps, high driving position so I can see over traffic..........

Gas is going up and so did I. Like the new Ford slogan says "trading up to Ford" :p:

Congrats in the new Ex. Myself I was back, now I'm gone.
