So taking my son to school Monday morning, I hear what sounds to be like the front driver side wheel bearing grinding ever so slightly and intermittently. I keep driving and the vehicle operates, but randomly makes the noise. The vehicle is also now showing the ABS light, TracControl light, and flashing 4x4 HIGH lights. So from what little I was able to research, it sounded like the wheel hub/bearing had finally bit the dust.

Tuesday morning we began to pull out of the driveway and the vehicle wont allow me to accelerate above 10mph and constantly sounds like the ABS is activated when I press the gas, only on the front driver side. I park it and just now finished replacing the wheel hub/bearing assembly. So I head out on the test drive and lo and behold, the lights are all now gone, BUT, the grinding noise is still there and consistent now and I still have the issue of the vehicle not allowing me to accelerate without bogging down and sounds like activating the brakes on the front D/S wheel. When I let off the accelerator, IT ROLLS FINE WITH NO STUTTERING.

So, finally my point, can anyone help me think/diagnose what the possible issue could be from the (crappy) descriptions I laid out?? Any help is greatly appreciated. And I stuck this in the transmission/axle thread because Im starting to believe it maybe something front axle related.

A scanner that can read ABS codes and ABS data would be the best tool to use, you would be able to see what is not working in the ABS system and causing it to activate. Most likely it's one of the wheel speed sensors if I had to guess but you should identify the problem before replacing and more parts.
