HELLO, I'm JOHN.
I'm new to this forum. Not sure exactly how to use it but I've got problems with my 1991 Ford Explorer 4.o v-6 4x4. I had no previous fuel or electrical issues and truck has been running fine. Then driving at night and low on fuel, the truck stopped running. Electrical all seemed fine, I just thought I ran outta gas like a dummy.Pulled over and engine was not running. Cranked but did not fire. Added 5gls gas-still just cranked but no fireing-popping-nuthin. JUST CRANKING FINE. I replace fuel pump, fuel relay switch and fuse. Did not see any fraying of wires. Still the same. Found the Emergency shut off switch...I think. Was not popped. Pulled off spark plug wire and tried to arc it. No spark, so I pulled the coil pack and that's where I am now. I have not replaced the pack yet as it's around $100.oo new and I already spent over $125.oo with now luck. ANY other ideas or things to try? How can I test the coil pack? I don't have any electrical meters to use. I am mechanically competent but mostly on 60s-70-s cars. I am out of work right now so funds are at a min.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! I hope this is OK to ask questions here, like I said, I'm brand new to this site and to asking questions online. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
