well, do you like them? that should be what decides if you get them or not... not who else likes them.....

I agree with jima bena, that's kinda of a personal taste thing.

I happen to like them even though I don't have them, not yet anyway.

Indiglo???

Where did you find indiglo gauges for the 95-01 X? All I've seen are the white faced ones from nrauto. One of my backlights just bit it (behind the high side of the speedo), and I'm thinking while replacing the bulb, I might just go white.

Indiglo would be real cool - saw a nice set on a Subaru the other day.

Holter,
Most of the ones I've seen are white during the day and blue, green, etc.... at night. Were you looking for something different?

Here are some places to check:

ebay

Stylin Concepts

Pro Car Parts

The only ones I've seen that fit the Explorer are white-faced, but with backlit numbers (like factory). I haven't seen any of the Indiglo (i.e. Chrysler 300M-style) for the Exp, where the actual gauge face is illuminated.

Looks to me like most aftermarket suppliers are straying away from late-model Explorers in favor of the full size F150 and Expedition. Must figure we poor Explorer saps can't afford any of the new cool stuff, so they don't bother making them. Here's a wish list I'd like to see:

1. Projector beam/multreflector or HID headlight conversions (not just bulb conversions, an actual reflector kit too!)
2. Indiglo gauges
3. Multireflector clear corners (actual CLEAR LENSES, not just a kit that doesn't have the orange reflector inside)
4. Altezza-style taillights for 95-97 vintage Exp.
5. PIAA air dam kit similar to that offered for the Expedition/F-150, Chevy Silverado, etc.

But i guess that's the nature of big business. Build what sells. 95% of Explorer owners leave their vehicle bone-stock, so I guess we're a small minority of tweakers!

I agree with you holter. I guess I'm glad that I'm happy with the way mine looks, but if you run across items 1, 3, & 4, before I do please let me know.

By the way, one of the guys on the forum replaces his stock X guages with some Sport Trac ones. He had to make some minor mods, but he says they look cool.
