The only ones I've seen that fit the Explorer are white-faced, but with backlit numbers (like factory). I haven't seen any of the Indiglo (i.e. Chrysler 300M-style) for the Exp, where the actual gauge face is illuminated.
Looks to me like most aftermarket suppliers are straying away from late-model Explorers in favor of the full size F150 and Expedition. Must figure we poor Explorer saps can't afford any of the new cool stuff, so they don't bother making them. Here's a wish list I'd like to see:
1. Projector beam/multreflector or HID headlight conversions (not just bulb conversions, an actual reflector kit too!)
2. Indiglo gauges
3. Multireflector clear corners (actual CLEAR LENSES, not just a kit that doesn't have the orange reflector inside)
4. Altezza-style taillights for 95-97 vintage Exp.
5. PIAA air dam kit similar to that offered for the Expedition/F-150, Chevy Silverado, etc.
But i guess that's the nature of big business. Build what sells. 95% of Explorer owners leave their vehicle bone-stock, so I guess we're a small minority of tweakers!
