Hi guys,

Forgive the ignorance of a newcomer...

I'm looking to put an in-dash SatNav in my 97 Series 2.
Can anyone help me clear up a few questions?

I keep reading on these forums about the size of the opening. Some say its a DIN, some say its a 1.5 DIN. Is there a definitive answer?

I'm looking at the Navman iDN 3000 or the Kenwood KVT-M707 units. Has anyone tried any of these, or got any comments about them? I really like the flip out motorised option. Although I am a bit concerned about blocking the vents, and whether the unit can flip out far enough to give a decent viewing angle.

Are there any Ford units I could look at?

I've tried asking my local Ford dealer but they don't seem very interested in cars of my age.

Any help or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Cheers chaps,

A

don't believe the uk version is much different then the ones here on the states. the radio is more of about a 1.75 din. slightly less that a 2din. however you can fit still fit a 2 din radio in the factory opening, just takes a little trimming of the dash. metra makes a kit for it
