for only a small lift the best way I can think of is shackles(50) and some new front springs(150). That will get you about two inches or so. Good luck

what kind of springs

what kind of springs should i get for that two inches of lift in the front rancho skyjacker superlift hmmmmm which would be best and you say these new springs should lift the front two inches? sounds good to me

From all I've heard I would stay away from Superlift. They are cheaper cut sag quite a bit. The Rancho's look tuff, or you also could see if ome make front springs for the explorer.

Don't forget photos when you're done

I am wondering the same thing. i am at school now so i won't be doing this until december. if i got the shackles, how much lift should i expect? i am just wondering because i want to get the coil spacers from bluedogbandit and would like to get them now. i was thinking i would get 1 1/2 inches of lift out of the shackles so if i got 1 inch coil spacers to level it out would that make sense? any input would be appreciated.
thanks,
chad

Check out my site.....under the "toys" link(its the one with the naked dude) there is a shot showing a pair of shackles installed. There also are several photos showing them in the "off-highway" link on the trail.

Also, if you do go there let me know what you think of the site. Some of the photos are of poor res. I scanned them on the lowest res. I had just to save space. Once I get the site where I like it I'll rescan them.

You could do a set of shackles and add a leafs in the rear, but I don't know if you can just take a bigger coil and put it in the front...that might change the camber too much to alighn...but then again I could be wrong.....Pete

hmmmmm

i just dont know what to do how much out of line am i going to be if i go with 2 " lift coils in the front that is what i would like to do though i have good shocks with plenty travel

It will align

Longer coils will align, just don't get carried away. This was the mod I had in mind before getting tipped off to the coil spacer idea. My truck was aligned on friday, no problems. (note: I have adjustable cambers.) Something for you guys to think about. One of the biggest regrets I have with my truck is that I didn't go big when I put my lift on. I have the Rancho 2 1/2" lift, and it was just enough to give me the explorer fever. I am now running 32x11.50 BFG M/T's, with absolutely no tire rub, BUT I am also running a PA 2" body lift, Warrior Product shackles, and my coil spacers. I have decided not to make spacers bigger than 1". With the amount of thread that is left over, you will have to replace the studs to go bigger, and that will be difficult. The WP shackles have a varied lift height, from 1-2 inches. Having a little extra height in the rear isn't bad. Especially if you hate the way all the trucks on the road look with beefed up front end suspension and just add-a-leafs in the rear. If anyone has more questoins, please email me. If you have the money, buy a bigger lift. If you are going to buy longer springs, remember that you are not going to get 1" lift out of 1" taller springs. You will get more extension out of new springs, but if you go with my coil spacers, you won't lose extension over your current springs. Just food for thought. One thing I like about my spacers is this, if I do decide to go with a bigger kit later, I can still use my spacers....no money wasted!
