Are Infinity Kappa Perfect Subwoofers Any Good? Ive never heard them in person, just the door speakers, but I found some 12.1 12s on ebay for $220. Would a kenwood 1200 watt amp push these hard? I want my Bass to be pounding, but not pound my wallet, you know? I wanted to maybe go with Infinity Kappa Perfect speakers in all the doors, and the subwoofers, with my Kenwood CD player and amp.

I have a Kappa perfect dvc and I like it. I am running it in a ported box now, and need to build a nice sealed one, but they are pretty good. A 1200 watt kenwood should push one just fine.

my sister has one in her eclipse. for just one 12" sub i think it sounds pretty darn good. i was impressed with it.

they are good subs

you can get a lot more bump for your money, but only a few subs have better sql for the money than that one. make sure you get the best deal you can though.

Thats why I want these ones, I want them to bump hard, but Its my daily driver, I want it to sound good too.
I was thinking of going with a Kenwood Excelon CD Changer & Player (On Layaway Already), Infinity Kappa 680.7CS Components in the front doors, 682.7CF 5x7s in the backs, and 4 12" 12.1D Subwoofers, Powered By 2 Kenwood 1200 Watt Amps in a large ported box, with the woofers facing the ceiling. MBrooks, you think I should put 1200 watts on each woofer? I was going to be put 1200 to each pair. You dont think it would blow off so many watts?

I wouldn't run 1,200 watts to a single sub :) I meant 1,200 watts would push a pair nicely.

oh good. I was thinkin man I dont want it hitting that hard ya know

I'm doing the same thing you're doing pretty much just with different brands. I have a large custom built box with a huge port on it that faces 4 Kicker L7 12 upwards with 2 KICKER KX1200.1 amps running all 4 subs. I'm installing it in a couple weeks and it's bout to be f'n amazing! I have a Pioneer 7700mp deck and I'm looking to get a 6.5 component or coaxil setup here real soon. Right now the only thing installed is the deck... the amps, subs, boxes, are waiting patiently in my room :)

I've got the 10.1 dvc, its nice. The only thing is, they're a bit fragile. If you overdrive it, you can crack them. If I overdrive mine, it rattles. That's when I know to change some settings(usually the bass boost). Other than that they're great. Good thump, great quality, awesome warranty(3 years).

They're alright, but what's the RMS of the kenwood? Not the max power it'll never put out except for a millisecond if lightning ever strikes it.

No speaker likes being driven beyond its limits. The rattling you hear is probably it bottoming out or lead slap.

600 watt rms, 300x2 will be pushing to the speakers
