Hey all.. Just installed an inexpensive Sony cd player in place of an old clarion unit, and was working fine for a few days. Then all the sudden the fuse for the stock amp blew. Replaced, about 30 minutes of driving and it blew again. Now it will blow out right after turning on the deck. Any ideas?

The only thing I was thinking is that maybe the new deck (Which I think is 35 or 40x4) is pushing more to the factory amp than the previous units and causing the fuse to blow? If so I guess this could be fixed with a bypass harness? Thanks!

I don't know how experienced of an installer you are, so don't take this personally. I would guess that you have some loose wires touching. Did you install it yourself, or did someone else install it? It could very well be what you said as well.

Thanks for the reply but no, all of the wiring is in good shape, checked and doublechecked 3 times. Just for the sake of checking it out, replaced the 20amp fuse with a 25 to see if it would be immediately and it didn't. So I'm going to try and track down where the draw is since it obviously isn't real excessive. If it pops again I may just bypass the amp and call it a day.
