Installing 2002 Camber/Caster Adjuster Kits

Post number 12 has been selected as best answered.

I just bought new tires and had an alignment done and right front camber is out of spec. Purchased a Moog K80111 adjustment kit online from Amazon. The large recessed washer has the locator pins towards the recessed side instead of the flat side.

Didn't look like this would work so I returned it. Purchased from another website and received the same incorrect part. I guess I will have to find a parts house that has it in stock so I can check it before purchase. Correct part should be like the picture in Jeff98735's post so you can install the locator pins in the shim holes and make adjustment by turning the adjusting nut in the washer recess.

Called Moog and they said that they had production problems with this part and some with the manufacturing error are still out there. Bought a set from them, at a much higher price than Amazon of course, but they were OK.

Here is what I understand thus far and some follow up questions:
  • Order MOOG K80111 x 2 (2 nuts and shims per kit)
  • Remove front upper control arm vertical facing factory nuts (2 per side) and factory shims (2 per side)
  • Install MOOG K80111 (2 nuts and shims per side)
  • Order MOOG K80112 x 2 (1 nut and shim per kit)
  • Remove rear factory nut and shim (1 per side)... from where? rear upper control arm? rear lower control arm? front or rear nut on control arm?
  • Install MOOG K80112 x 2 (1 nut and shim per side)
It bears stating that the items in these kits are different; the kits are not interchangeable. The locator pins on the 80112 kits (for the back) are wider than the locator pins on the 80111 kits (for the front). Seems obvious, but you may find that you get an 80112 box from the part shop that actually has an 80111 shim in it because someone returned it in the past.....
