Is there a site out there that shows the correct way to install a auto trans cooler on the 4.0 Explorer? Something with pictures would be nice. I just want to do it right. Thank's!

Aldive!

By installing the extra filter do you change your fluid more often? How often do you change your filter? I think that this is the way I want to go cause i do want to keep my Explorer for the long(8-10 years) term. Right now with the mileage that I put on at the end of 8 more years of driving i will only have 155,000 to 165,000 total miles on it. I just think that with proper care it should get to this total. Anyway whats your routine with the extra filter? Thanks for your input!

Right after cinstalling the filter, I changed it after a couple hundred miles, if I remember correctly, and cut it open to see what it trapped ( see the thread Dead Link Removed ). I now change the tranny filter at each oik change ( 10k miles ). It wouldn't hurt to change more often, I do use high quality filters - Pur 1 and Mobil 1.

Good luck......
