I am upgrading the 6 CD system in my 02 XLT to the audiophile system. I got the subwoofer w/amp and head unit, both for an 02, off ebay. Couldn't find a used subwoofer harness so boght new from Ford dealer. I watched him dig up the P/N and looked like he did it correctly. I got the cable I ordered but the connector end for the head unit does not match. The subwoofer end is fine, but for the 02 head unit, the subwoofer harness connector needs to be a female, and it is a male (has blades). Plus the connector needs to fit into the head unit, and this connector is clearly larger than the head unit connector. Does anybody know if Ford had 2 different style head units for 02 that may have had different subwoofer connections? Both of the standard head unit connections fit perfectly into the new unit, it is just the subwoofer cable that doesn't fit.
