I ordered my F-150 coil spacers today, I should have them monday. I also ordered my shackels. Is the instaliation of the coil spacers as simple as removing the bolt at the bottom of hte perch, removing the spring, putting the spacer in, putting the spring back in, and then put the bolt back in? Are there any tricks I should know?

Thanks
Chris

Hey, where did you order your f-150 coil spacers from? I checked at o'reileys and autozone, no one could order them. Do I have to go to a Ford Dealer or what?
Thanks

spacers

Yep easy as pie, but actually the bolt is a stud that stays attached to the axle housing or traction beam , and the coli and its washer and seat are held down by a nut. Use a 1 1/8" wrench or socket with several extensions. simply disconnect the shock, brake caliper, and the nut on the spring, let the assembly hang loose enough to remove the coil or slide the spacer in, then reverse the procedure. mine took less than an hour each side. good luck let us know how it goes.

i don't know where he got these spacers but there are some available from superlift i think in 1/4" incriments.

prettly simple

to make it easy, disconnect your shocks at the bottom, and disconnect your sway bar links. this will allow you to drop the arm axle down far enough to get the spring out easier. make sure you mark the spring. it has to sit in the bucket a certain way, and you need to make sure it seats right. other than that, as long as you have the right tools, i.e. a deep well 1 1/8" socket and long extension, all you will have to do is have it aligned. you may have to get adjustable cambers to do this. just make sure you take it too a good 4x4 shop to have it aligned, they'll know what to do. good luck.

Hey thanks guys... I was hoping it would be the simple. EBexplorer, yeah I ordered them from the local ford dealership for like $37 i think. I will be installing shackles at the same time, so it should be nice when i am done... i will let you guys know how it goes, and hopefully have pictures too :D .

Thanks again
Chris

Hey one more question guys... will I have to change my shocks when I do it? I don't amagin so, but ya never know. Also I was thinking of getting the skyjacker 2" lift (i think that is who makes it), will I need to change my shocks then? I am running RS5000's now.

Thanks
Chris

what are the part number for ford? are they new or old f150? specs?

spacers and more...?

Hey , oops i forgot the sway bar links, nice save bandit. I am not sure who makes which version of the 2 or 2." lift , but some of the 2" lifts only use longer springs, without relocating the radius arm pivot or the axle arm pivot locations, this will pretty much max out an eccentric camber bushing your $37 purchase x2. if you have this style 2" lift then you will have wasted the money on the coil spacer, you will either have a very, very , very ,very hard time aligning or won't be able to align at all with 2" coils plus 1" spacer without drop brackets. If however you get a 2" or 2.5" kit with drop brackets then you shouldn't have a problem. but then you will have 2-3.5" in the front and only 1.5-2" in the rear. hope this helps a little. IMHO i think you should go ahead with the 4" or 5.5" kit, i have met very, very few people that have bought a small lift that didn't go ahead and go bigger soon after, that is unless you already have or plan to get a 2-3" body lift.

good luck.

Hey thanks. I already do have a 3" body lift, and the spacers/shackles will bring me up around 4-4.5". I want to go with 6" superlift eventually but do ont want to spen dthe money right now. I'd rather have 4wd! :)
