installing front shocks

I need to instal front shocks on my 97 xlt 4.0. Is there a "how to" somewhere on the site?
If not is it hard to do and do I need any special tools?

I am new to this site and it has been a wealth of knowledge!!! I have done the brown wire trick and some members were very helpful when I had questions when I replaced my fuel pump last weekend.

I replaced my front shocks twice. The first time was the originals that had 125k mi on them.

I had to cut the bolts off from the top mount to remove them.

I replaced the same front ones I put in a year ago because, I bought them on ebay and they must have been seconds or defects cheap.

Anyway I was surprised that I again had to grab my sawzall and cut off the top bolts.

That will be your biggest issue. Getting them out.
