When Intalling an aftermarket air intake on a 98 Explorer V6 Sohc does anyone know what size hole to drill in the new inlet pipe for the Air Temperture Sensor??

I saw some awesome instructions for this by K&N on the web a while back,
but forgot to bookmark the link.

Any help would really save my day.

My '95 OHV used a 11/16" drill bit for my K&N. I used a cheap wood drilling one because I diddn't want to drop more than 10 bucks on a drill bit. Worked great for me.

Thanks Ski my kit did not come with a rubber grommet either so it should be fun sourcing that to. I think I am going to buy the $28 steel bit and return it.

Have you contacted K&N? I'm sure they've got extra grommets laying around somewhere, just tell them you ordered a K&N for your explorer, and busted your grommet or something...worth a shot.

That totally sucks you diddnt get all your necessary supplies...good luck with the intake scavanger hunt my friend!

Excellent, great minds think a like I guess, I was going to call K&N Monday and tell them that they forgot to include the Grommet in the kit, this happens all the time, believe me I have had three different kits from three different companies and they all came missing parts.

The Volant came with the wrong size hose clamp which blows because they are special stainless marine clamps. Also no grommet for the air temp sensor.

Thanks-

You could use PCV grommets. I did on my intake - worked fine.
