I am about to install a new clutch on my X, and I have a few questions. First off, this clutch only lasted 86k, with some pretty heavy off road use in the last 50k. (i bought it with 30k on the clock) This seem normal? I will probably be installing a Perfection Hi-test new unit, because i had really good luck with these on my 68 stang, unless anyone has heard otherwise. My main concern is that I have never pulled a tranny out of a 4x4 before. I have done who knows how many tranny r&r's on RWD/FWD cars, and I'm a pretty good mechanic, but some tips couldnt hurt. Like, should I seperate the t-case before removing the tranny, or should I take them down as 1 unit. Any advice would be appreciated.

Owen Ray. See ya at hollister.
