installing new tailgate

so this weekend driving i hit ice on a bridge and slide around and slammed the back of my explorer into a tree, luckily only the bumper and hatch door were damaged. what im wondering is since i need to replace my hatch if i go to a junk yard and find one, how will i go about wiring the electronics like heated window, break light, etc... is there some sort of main plug in the door i can unhook and plug into the new door or will i have to cut the wires at the top and manually splice them to the new door? thanks

The Plug is under the headliner. on the roof near the back of the Explorer. there will be a plug and a four bolts to undo.
