Im planning on getting warrior shackles and was wondering how hard it is to install them and what to do

Do you take them both off at the same time?

Is it hard to get the new ones on since you are lifting the whole rear of the truck?

and which part is easier to install first part that goes to the frame or to the springs?

Thanks

The lower shackle bolt can be an absolute PITA to remove. It corrodes into the sleeve. better have a BFH or air hammer ready.

Iv heard that about shackles.
planning on soaking them in PB blaster a few hours before and yea using my favorite BFH :) (many things have fallen victim to it)

Oh PB Blaster don't always work for the job you're about to take on. You may want to try get a buddy at the truck with you have your ratchet on the bolt, and a tubular steel bar on the ratchet one of you hold the ratchet still and the other try to stand on it that will most likely break it lose even hammering the hell out of it don't always work at least not for me. Try that technique first. If all else fails get it burnt out. My first shackle replacement I didn't think to try standing on the ratchet or putting full foot force on the ratchet first and went and burnt out the leaf spring.

I suppose thats a common problem with you guys that live in heavy snow areas where they salt the roads. Although a BFH is always good to have for such occasions :D

ALso depends on the type of hitch you may have on your X, I had to use a reciprocating saw to cut my bolts off.

angle grinder works well

Ok, I just had my shackles installed at a local shop. They put them on upside down, and charged me $275.00!! WTF! They said it would be $90.00 on the phone. My compressor took a dump, and I have been extremely busy. I figured what the heck, let them do it while I am working. I needed to get it done so I could get my TT done. I am getting my new Tires Sat morning.
Well, the rear bushings were froze in the old shackles, and they torched them off. They could not get the new bushings until the next day. They charged me $58.00 for 2 new ones! The rest was labor, cause I supplied the shackles that I paid $83 shipped to me. All together it was $358.00 for my shackles. I am fit to be tied! I could have bought another compressor for that! I learned the hard way, dont be lazy and pay someone else a pile of gold for something you can do yourself!!!
