Installing Speakers 1997

I just bought some speakers and i am taking the old ones out. I AM A COMPLETE NOOB AT ANYTHING TO DO WITH CARS LOL. I installed the sub an amp my self now i just need help with the aftermarket speakers i bought. when i took out the stock ones it just unclips. with the new speakers there is nothing to clip them to the harness in the truck soooooo. so i cut the wires or what? lol thanks!

Use adapters - most car audio shops stock them:

Don't cut them. Get the adapters- if you ever sell the truck or need to swap them out, it's a pain in the ass to deal with it. Get the harnesses and keep your stock connectors in place.
