Instrument gauge cluster problems

Hi everyone I'm lorring and new here and need to ask for your help anyone. I highly appreciate everyone's help thankyou in advance. 12 months ago I bought a 2005 ford explorer sport track xlt 4x4 the previous owner failed to tell me that the instrument gauge cluster only comes on every so often. Aswell the power windows shut off, the radio and interer lights speedometer all gauges. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem or were to begin to look? I would so appreciate it thankyou again.

iirc the gem controls all those, i would start by inspecting the harnesses that connect to them. is there any rhyme or reason to them xoming on(eg cool weather, a good slam on the dash)?
