Hiya

It's that joyous time of year when my car insurance is due.
Re-newel is coming in at £540+ with Swiftcover.

I have 7yrs NCB no points or convictions and will be 45 before re-newel date.
I've tried Go Compare and got a few ridiculously low quotes from companies I've never heard of. Also tried Direct Line.

Is there a company I've missed that could save me a couple of quid?

Might save enough for a free tank of LPG! I live in hope ...

Ive just had my renewal through from Churchill, £427, gone up £100 and i moved house middle of this policy, when i did they told me it would go down next renewal as i was moving 2 postcodes down the scale, now it comes time to renew they know nothing about that! robbing Bstards they are!

I used confused.com and found Sureterm insurance that quoted me £211. I'm 44, 4 years no claims and no convictions. Yeh they are a no name brand however you don't know what any insurance company are like untill you have a claim! they all piss in the same pot so to speak.

I have in the past used esure, priviledge and Aviva

I insured with Aviva, changing from another car mid policy. The annual quote they gave me for comparison was under 500 and allowed for overnight parking in the road.
I had recently returned from Australia and Aviva also honoured my full no claims from there.

I'm with Adrian Flux. This year my premium dropped to about £350. I'm 25, and for some reason insuring a LHD Ex was cheaper than a RHD one!

I've used Sureterm before.
Looks like I'm spending a morning hitting the free phone numbers :(

Finally settled on re-newing with Swiftcover after getting them to knock off £50 ish. :chug:
I suppose sub-£500 isn't bad these days. I hear they are all hikeing their prices thanks to the blood sucking no-win-no-fee scumbags claiming for non-existant whiplash rear end taps. :fire:
Loads were coming back £600 - £1200 figures!
I must be losing my touch though, only yesterday I managed to get my Dad's re-newel with his existing company for LESS than he paid them last year after they came at him for £110 more.
Shopping around IS a ball ache though.

Sure term insurance,
Got fully comp for 250 quid.
Give them a try...

Insurance is a dark art TBH. Legal scam IMHO but hey-ho got to have it.

I reckon Insurance companies check the postcode and determine what can afford to pay and +10% to that in case you haggle and come up with their premium.
