I'm guessing the price is too good to be true, but are the intake adapter/filter kits on ebay worth anything?

I'm guessing the filter is garbage, but would it still be a waste to get the adapter and then add a good brand filter to it? I'm mostly looking to increase gas mileage on my 99 Eddie 5.0 AWD for cheap. Extra power would be nice, but it's not the priority. Even 1 mpg would be welcome.

Thanks!

YES this adapter works excellent, i actually bought the same one for my 2000 XLS SOHC. the filter aint the best but it works until i get my K&N. anyways i say go for it, it's a great find and deal and works FLAWLESSLY.....

Go for the KKM it's good a lot of people here have it and KKM is a member here so drop some $$$ Warren's way.

that adapter is fine. I had bought one off ebay and I had to slightly modify it to fit my engine (i have 4.0 SOHC) but its made out of aluminum so its not hard to modify. I ran the ebay filter for about 6 months until I got a rezton

BTW, you will need to supply your own bolts to hold the adapter to the MAF and mounting peices to mount the adapter to the truck so it doesnt wobble all over

WOW! Thats a rip off for the shipping.

I just built mine with 3" OD metal pipe and a piece of plate. Traced the MAF on the plate and cut it out. I cut the metal pipe at an angle and welded it to the plate. Cut a hole in the plate and smooth it up. I like the angle better, it fit my engine bay better. Its kind of a crappy pic, but here it is:

Excellent, once again... thank you all for the great advice.

Nice to find an affordable mod.
