NOTAJP - only the 03+ have disc brakes, mine has drums. In order to replace with discs, I would need two rotors, 4 pads, new master cylinder, new hard brake lines ran, new soft brake lines, and mounting hardware. I am very interested in doing this. I am also interested in a re-gear, a locker, and possibly a full-float kit, althought the full float kit seems to be not worth the money, assuming I went ahead and did the disc brake conversion. Basically I dont want to spend the money re-gearing and locking my current axle, If I am going to have problems with breaking parts when I supercharge my engine, added to the stress of the 35 thornbirds, and the fact that my Trac sees alot of time in the desert, I dont abuse my truck, but I do use it. Just trying to get information now, before I waste money. Another Reason Im probably nto going to replace my axle is that my auto tranny depends on the VSS sensor mounted in the axle to shift gears correctly. In order to replace my axle, I would probably have to replace my transmission. But there is a good chance Im going to do that anyway, because my stock mazda piece already broke once at 68 K, and it probably wont hold up to the supercharger. Thanks for your advice. Im always looking for more if you have more input.
