Intermittent clicking sound when turning right. Pop, wheel comes off…

I should have typed “Deleted by author“. Would have avoided confusion. This has been a nice off topic thread. Thanks for letting it go on.
BTW, I did delete that post. You can also use the Report button to ask that a post be deleted.

It’s one of those service shops that does the customer tires and all that jazz so he said he would double check all the others. Hopefully all is well and under the car and it’s done.
Sooo…. I paid 461.00 for the wheel hub to be replaced and rim to be ordered and replaced. It has been verified by the shop and the custom tire shop that the only way someone could have removed or tried to loosen my lug nuts is with the gorilla tool I have that’s in my glove department) I had no idea it was in there). So that eliminated the theft theory. And they have written up statements so I will be sending to Ford, BBB, and small claims.

Small claims and BBB for what? You hearing, AND ignoring a noise until a part completely fails? This was purely lack of maintenance.

Let this be a lesson in not just driving something to failure. Next time a wheel could come off at speed and you could kill someone else on the road.

Poor maintenance in a two weeks time??

Did you hear and ignore a noise for two weeks?

Not at all called multiple times and texted to have it brought in. Was given the run around about getting an appointment. Between sales and service. Was told of under warranty had to go to a Ford authorize dealership.

Checking your lug nuts should be a first nature thing, like checking your oil if the motor starts rattling.

I can see both sides of it, you're "supposed" to check these things, but a shop should still be liable for incompetent work which causes damage, even if you don't catch the problem.

I'm sure if he realized it was loose lug nuts, then he would have tightened them before driving anywhere.
